Who we are and what we do

Arla Foods, the World 4^th largest dairy company (based on milk intake), has 20,900 employees across 30 countries and over 8,450 dairy farm owners in Denmark, Sweden, United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. In Arla Foods, our research and new product development teams work together to build on science, new technologies, local knowledge, consumer tastes and regulatory frameworks to develop new product formulations for launch e.g., into a new market. At the Arla Innovation Centre, along with product development teams in the UK, Sweden, China, Germany, Netherlands, Finland, and the US, we innovate from farm to plate to create the future of dairy products. We do this in state-of-the-art science and consumer labs and a 2000 m² pilot plant, located in the heart of the Danish food cluster while working closely with suppliers, universities, and specialist technology companies (e.g., SMEs and entrepreneurs).

Working as a PhD at Arla Foods amba

As a PhD in our science team, you will be part of transforming knowledge of food science and nutrition into business opportunities for Arla. This will be done both by using current scientific knowledge but also by being part of conducting projects to gain new knowledge. In addition, within the science teams we have numerous external PhD projects and research projects running aiming to develop the science forward and result in findings that are useful for the dairy sector. At the Arla Innovation Centre, you will become part of a very multicultural organization with a great working atmosphere. What we are looking for in terms of new colleagues and collaborators are individuals that are self-driven, curious, hard/smart working, team players and creative thinkers.
