Since the foundation of Chr. Hansen in 1874 scientific insights into enzymes and micro-organisms have been key for the development of our product range of natural ingredients for the food, nutritional, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries.

Sustainability and products of natural origin have been part of the company’s heritage since the foundation as all our products are isolated from nature and then refined and improved so that they are fit for the intended industrial application.

We take great pride in working with mother natures own resources and with a scientific approach transfer these micro-organisms into products that provide the different industries we address opportunities to produces products in an ecological and sustainable way

At Chr. Hanse we are close to 4000 employees globally. Our main research facility is located in Hoersholm Denmark and host approximate 500 employees in our R&D function. We have 20 local technical application centers around the world
